Here's the demo I'd prepared for the tutorial series (mainly so that I can take screenshots more easily). It doesn't have a few of the elements covered in the tutorials (game files got corrupted, had to start over, would rather not think about it ever again), but you can see the other elements in the game editor if you need to.

Hope you enjoy the demo as much as I enjoyed making it. If anyone else aside from me actually reads these tutorials in the very likely distant future and builds their own demo, I'd love to see the game. Do share it in the comments, or you can email me too! I shall play it, provided I am still alive.

NOTE: I've only just realised this isn't clear in the 'game' at all, but once you figure out where your missing friend's gone to, you won't be able to exit the town until you visit the apothecary once.

If you need to run the game in windowed mode (trust me, you need to), you can press F4 after running the .exe, or (from the official forums) create a shortcut of the .exe -> right-click this shortcut and go to properties -> shortcut tab -> in the target field add NormalPlay ShowTitle Window. Then you can keep using the shortcut to launch the game.
