WHY I STARTED JOURNALING

Or journalling, as it sometimes is.

Like with this blog, journaling seemed like an obvious hobby I might enjoy, given that I like reading and writing. Unlike this blog, however, I did not start my journey with journaling (hehe) out of boredom during the lockdown. I wanted something that would help me stay focused on my goals, let me document and explore my ideas and maybe even give me a space to vent when I needed to. Keeping a journal was the self-evident choice.

Over the last year, I've realised that not only does jotting down my plans or thoughts help me keep things more organised, but the freedom to be as creative and as decorative as you want with journal entries always puts me in a good mood. The decorating part really helps capture the mood (and so the intent) of that entry in an intangible way, often better than words can.

In this section of the site, I'll be blogging as I explore this hobby more, putting up tutorials or projects of handbound journals and notebooks as I make them, and 'accessories' to add to your journal. I'm excited to start projects that combine what I've done with paper folios and what I'll be doing with notebooks. Posts on these will be up soon, plenty of ideas loitering in my head already!
