Alice in Chains is the best band I've come across in years. I've only really started listening to them recently; I'd heard their music before, but never gravitated much towards it. In fact, I spent much of youth obsessing over just a handful of bands, and never gave anything else a serious try. Shame.

Anyway, back to AIC, their music just hits different once you're older. It's amazing how much emotion their songs convey: all relatable, even if you haven't had the misfortune of suffering through an addiction.

As many have noted, you don't hear their songs, you feel them. Everything comes together perfectly - the lyrics, the instruments, the vocals. Brilliant band.
